Social media users have began to use other social media outlets to trash talk Snapchat’s recent update

Snapchat is a popular app where people send/post photos that will only last about 24 hours or less. Their latest update last week has snapchat users livid with the new layout. According to Buzzfeed, CEO Evan Spiegel wanted to make the app “more personal”.

The old layout separated posts by personal messages on one side and all public stories on the other side mixing all types of content in the story section. While the new layout now separates friends and publishers content. On one side you have all personal and public friend Snapchat stories squished together, while the other shows public figures’ posts along with a bunch of advertisements. Users feel that the Snapchat layout is cluttered and confusing.

The Snapchat users have taken to social media outlets, like twitter to express their dissatisfaction with the update. Many have contacted Snapchat’s tech support hoping for the company to revoke their redesign. In response, the tech support has asked user to stop asking them to change the layout since they only specialize in helping with any technical difficulties. Despite all the backlash, the Independent has reported that Snapchat will not be making changes to the layout anytime soon since it is designed to make the company money.

The positive outcome of Snapchat’s new layout is the hilarious posts people are making about how horrible the update is.

Your move Snapchat.
