Reverse google image searching the “victims” of the assault have proven the accusations to be false

“Black Panther” is Marvel’s latest superhero movie directed by an African American man with a predominately African American cast. According to the Los Angeles Times, the movie is expected to bring at least $150 million from the US and Canada alone. The movie has been given a lot of love and many are excited for the new film. Except some racist trolls on twitter. To stop the ratings of the movie “Black Panther” twitter users have been falsely claiming African American audience members are attacking the Caucasian moviegoers.

The racist twitter users have been posting images of bloodied/injured people claiming it to be them in hopes to get some sympathy. Many have called out these false accusations in order to protect the image of the new movie, but the damage has been done. Although many have proven all these cases are false there are still some who believe these allegations to be true. SBS News has reported that many of the troll accounts have been suspended.

People need to be aware that not everything you see is the truth, especially on social media. Everyone needs to do their part and do a little bit of research before spreading rumors. In this instance a quick reverse image search showed that these photos are from other cases. One, for example, shows a woman covered in blood after being hit in the head with a bottle by a man who groped her. Help report these trolls and spread the word that they’re false. Also, continue to send positive vibes in hopes of a successful screening of “Black Panther”.
