32-year-old Chrissy Teigen is expecting her second child, a son, with singer John Legend

Cookbook author and model, Chrissy Teigen, opens up at the Create & Cultivate Conference in Los Angeles. Teigen opens up to hairstylist Jen Atkins during a Q&A about her past battle with postpartum depression with first daughter, Luna. According to E News, in 2017 Teigen revealed to Glamour that despite showing a smiling face to the world she actually suffered from postpartum depression. With the second child on the way she revealed to Atkins that she fears it will happen again with the second child.
People wrote that Teigen has compared postpartum depression to “coming down from any drug”. She has also spoke out to others about the topic. Teigen mentions that it’s normal since you have a rush of endorphins during IVF that afterwards you lack a bit of those endorphins and that’s okay. Just reminding herself that she has a wonderful husband and daughter helped her feel normal. Teigen also feels that she was lucky enough to have the luxury to choose her own schedule, which helped a lot.
“I cannot explain how much I look up to people that are still trying to grow into what they want to be,” she explained. “I’m older now, I’ve been through the dues of it all. But I don’t know how I would have handled it if I were still paying the dues and having to answer to certain people. I think I would have been too weak, honestly. I don’t know how you guys do it every single day.”
It’s great to see celebrities, like Teigen, speak about topics that most feel never happen to them. It’s also admirable for her to speak about her luxuries and commend other mothers who go through this without the help of so many people. One thing to take away from this is that postpartum depression happens to anyone and a great way to fight against it is to be around people you love.
